Crumble: we recycle pandoro
Who drives pandoro after the Christmas days? We in the family can never finish it all! Being three, I, my husband and my 4 year old daughter - fond of sweets - and receiving more and more pandori from grandparents, friends and colleagues, there is always a lot of them. Who drives pandoro after the Christmas days? We in the family can never finish it all! Being three, I, my husband and my 4 year old daughter - fond of sweets - and receiving more and more pandori from grandparents, friends and colleagues, there is always a lot of them. After some Christmas breakfasts, pandoro and milk begins to stew a bit :) Surfing the Internet, I discovered this nice recipe to turn the pandoro leftovers into an original and delicious dessert: the crumble!
You will need a pineapple, 2 slices of pandoro, 1 teaspoon of ginger powder, 3 tablespoons of brown sugar, 30 gr butter, 150 ml of liquid cream, powdered sugar and additions of your choice (fresh or dried fruit, drops of chocolate…).
Once clean, cut the pineapple into cubes and sauté in a non-stick pan with brown sugar so that it caramels. In a bowl, then, mix the caramelized pineapple with ginger. Arrangethe pineapple in a greased baking dish with a little butter. Then, cut the pandoro into cubes; roll it over the pineapple into the pan. Bake at 180 degrees in the oven in grill mode a couple of minutes.
Next, whip the cream. After removing the cake from the oven, wait for it to cool a little, add the dried fruit, chocolate chips, other additions and your choice and then put the powdered sugar and cream (above or aside, as you prefer).
A tasty break is guaranteed! We enjoyed it in front of the umpteenth "Mum I lost the plane" on a perfect winter afternoon!
