Children and social
It's morning, the alarm rings on the smartphone. Sleepy, between a yawn and the other, we reach the phone with his hand and, off the annoying sound, we open WhatsApp to read the latest messages. It's morning, the alarm rings on the smartphone. Sleepy, between a yawn and the other, we reach the phone with his hand and, off the annoying sound, we open WhatsApp to read the latest messages. Drinking coffee we browse the news on Facebook, the latest posts of friends and influencers and in turn we share what we are doing at that time. 15 years ago it could have sounded like science fiction, but today we are pervaded by mobile devices and social networks and every gesture that includes them is spontaneous. If there are children in our daily life, it is inevitable that they too become part of our digital world.
In 2017 the sentence of the Court of Mantua arrived in Italy, which defined that the consent of both parents is needed in order to publish photographs of their children on social media.
Beyond opinions, ensuring greater protection for minors is important init was in which social networks pervade our daily lives.
Often, with a little 'lightness, we want to share the best moments of our lives and this includes our children. It seems natural to post a picture of a child, so beautiful and sweet, which for us is a source of joy and that we want to share with our friends. However, sometimes we forget that perhaps more people can access our profile than we would like, because the privacy settings are not updated or because not all the contacts we have online are really trusted.
Research carried out by the Privacy Authority has shown that child pornography is growing, particularly in the most hidden part of the web. Among the reasons for this growth, unfortunately, there is also the habit of parents to share photos of their children on social networks network.
Sometimes it would be enough to protect the faces of children, without giving up the pleasure of sharing a shot with our friends, even if we often love the little face of our little ones that we would like to publish it to everyone.
The recent case of the son of the couple Fedez-Ferragni who is posted everywhere without censorship has raised a small case on social media: the new father replied that in the case of his son, far from normal, the spotlight would have been pointed on him, therefore, instead of waiting for the paparazzi to pursue them, the two influencers chose to take the reins of the publications, actively.
Right or wrong, their choice is however on a different level, since the lives of VIPs do not correspond to that of the majority of parents.
The debate is still on and probably will not findnever a solution, as in any important choice that concerns children and that is taken to them a priori by their parents.
